Workplace Safety. When you hear these words what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

We get it, It can be boring and extremely complicated. But it’s an essential part of any workplace to protect the health, safety and welfare of all workers.
OH&S rules and regulations are constantly changing and it’s the responsibility of all parties to make sure they are following safe workplace practices.
If you fail to comply with standards, you could be found guilty of a breach. A breach can be defined as:
- An employer or employee who places a person at risk of injury, illness or death
- NOT taking appropriate steps to avoid placing a person at risk
- Failing to comply with regulations and requirements
If you are found guilty of a breach, business owners and individual employees can be fined in the hundreds of thousands, and even worse, risk jail time!
Now that I have your attention, maybe having that safety meeting or reporting that near miss seem a little more important, right?
